Drafting & Crafting
What is Tour de Fleece?
For three weeks every summer, while the world’s elite cyclists tackle the grueling peaks of the Tour de France, fiber artists around the globe gear up for their own ultimate challenge: the Tour de Fleece! The concept is simple but exhilarating: we spin when the cyclists ride, tackle challenging "mountain stages" when they climb, and rest when they rest. However, our team does things a little bit differently. Whether you are spinning on a wheel or spindle, casting on a new knitting project, or crocheting through your stash, all crafts are welcome here. The true spirit of our Tour is about community, camaraderie, and setting a personal goal to challenge yourself and craft along with the energy of the race.
The Fun Begins: Saturday, July 4, 2026
Ends: Sunday, July 26, 2026
Join the Megs & Co Tour de Fleece Team!
Crafting is always better with friends! Whether you are spinning yarn, casting on a new knitting project, or crocheting through your stash, we want you on our team. Here is everything you need to know to join the fun, track your goals, and win some amazing prizes.
Where to Gather
All of our daily chatter, encouragement, and games will take place on the Megs & Co Discord Server in the dedicated #tour-de-fleece channel.
How It Works & How to Win
To keep things exciting during the race, we are playing Tour de Fleece Bingo! Make sure to download/print your Bingo Board 👇 posted below.
The Weekly Challenge: Each week, we will announce a specific bingo shape or pattern to aim for on Discord (for example, Week 1 might be a classic 5-in-a-row, either straight or diagonal).
Show Your Work: As you complete tasks on your board, share your photos in our Discord channel. These photos are your official "proof" and a great way to inspire the team!
Call Out BINGO: Once you’ve completed the weekly shape, post your finished board in the chat by the close of each week to enter the drawing.
The Prizes: We will draw one winner each week, plus one Grand Prize winner at the end of the Tour!
To qualify for the Grand Prize, you’ll need a Blackout Board (filling in every single square). In the event that no one achieves a full blackout, the grand prize will be drawn from the most filled-out board(s) submitted!
⚠️ Note: To be eligible for prizes, all photos and completed boards must be submitted inside the official #tour-de-fleece Discord channel.
The competition runs July 4th to July 26th
Week 1 - July 4 - July 10
Week 2 - July 11 - July 17
Week 3 - July 18 - July 24
Grand Prize - July 26
- Boards due by 11:59 PM ET each week (July 10, July 17, July 24, and July 26)
What if I’m Not Spinning?
You might look at the Bingo Board and think, “Wait, these squares are all about spinning, but you said ALL crafts are welcome!”
They absolutely are! Use this board as a creative guide rather than a strict set of rules—every square is open to your own interpretation. If you are knitting or crocheting along instead of spinning, you can simply swap out the fiber terms to fit your craft. For other squares, feel free to take a more liberal approach to fulfill the challenge. If you crochet you can try something new to count towards something really specific for example, trying cables to count for chain-plying.
Ultimately, the goal here is participation, connection, and fun. This is a community event, so there won't be any "craft police" inspecting your entries! Just share the milestones you are proud of—I can't wait to see how creative everyone gets with their interpretations!
Our Community Rules
Megs & Co is a safe space, and that fully extends to this event and our digital community. No bullying, hate speech, harassment, or discrimination of any kind will be tolerated. This is a friendly competition where we uplift, celebrate, and encourage one another regardless of background, craft choice, or skill level.
